A Former NBA Player Mocks Criticism Of Luka Doncic for Drinking Beer

More than seventy days have passed since the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, and neither fans nor experts have been able to provide a compelling explanation. The official explanation that the transaction was made to strengthen their defense is not being accepted by fans.

Most people think that there must have been deeper issues—cracks in the team’s foundation—for a team to deal away a generational star like Doncic. With the advantage of hindsight, we can look back and recall a few instances where a fracture might have formed.

Though none of them ever got to Luka’s level, players Stephen Jackson, Vernon Maxwell, and Matt Barnes all had similar altercations with the front offices of the teams they joined.

During his tenure in the league, Stak shared his anecdotes about the past. As he listened to them and reflected on his own experiences, Barnes said he was taken aback by the way the Mavs and media criticized Luka for having a beer. Barnes said: “That’s why I said, when they were tripping about Luka drinking beers, if you really knew what motherf*****s were doing in the league, that’s why I know you don’t know anything about this game.” 

Johnson added: “You had the whole rotation drinking out [of] the bottle,”
Maxwell also agreed on drinking beere saying:  “I used to try to drink all the beers in the locker room.”

When the NBA first started, it was completely absurd. Even teams that won championships were affected by the drug culture that characterized the 1980s and 1990s.
