2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Highlights: Eminem, Dr. Dre, Ed Sheeran, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie, & More

Saturday night (November 5) brought with it one of music’s biggest nights – the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Six months after the 2022 class was announced, the coveted trophies were handed to the more than worthy inductees – a list that included honorees Carly Simon, Eurythmics, Harry Belafonte, Pat Benatar, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Lionel Richie, Eminem, Dolly Parton, and more.

The first time the show was held in Los Angeles, the inductees not only gave impassioned speeches in front of a star-studded crowd that included the likes of Mary J. Blige, P!nk, Janet Jackson, Dr. Dre, Gwen Stefani, Bruce Springsteen, and more, but some even rocked the house with stunning performances!

Ahead of the ceremony’s November 19 airing on HBO, look inside for highlights.

Lionel Richie was inducted into the Hall of Fame by legendary singer-guitarist Lenny Kravitz.  The 73-year-old later launched into a medley of ‘Hello,’ ‘Easy,’ ‘All Night Long,’ and more of his greatest hits.

After Dr. Dre walked down memory lane in his touching induction speech of longtime friend and collaborator Eminem, the ‘Lose Yourself’ rapper showed off a slew of his greatest hits including ‘Not Afraid,’ ‘Forever,’ ‘Sing for the Moment’ (alongside Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler), and ‘Stan‘ (alongside global Pop sensation Ed Sheeran).

Pop Queen Janet Jackson was on hand to induct her longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis – the most successful production duo of all time – into the organization’s hallowed halls.

“Making music to them is not about following the trends or chasing the latest sound or watching the charts,” Jackson said while rocking a look reminiscent of the cover of 1986’s ‘Control‘ (her first album produced by the twosome). “It’s about saying what you truly feel in a way that fans can enjoy.”

Accepting a trophy, Lewis said, “I got to be the luckiest guy in the whole world. I just had Janet Jackson induct me into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”
