As some of the biggest names in publishing begin rolling out their eagerly awaited year-end lists, ‘Rolling Stone’ already has tongues wagging and jaws dropped with its ‘100 Best Albums of 2024.’

Beyond shocking arrangement of the year’s biggest efforts like Beyonce‘s ‘Cowboy Carter,’ GloRilla‘s ‘Glorious,’ Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘GNX,’ and Taylor Swift‘s ‘Tortured Poets,’ the tally left many surprised with its #6 placement of ‘Tyla’ – making it the highest-ranked debut album.

Leaving the likes of Normani, Ice Spice, Tems, Glorilla, Normani, Tommy Richman, FLO, and Anycia behind, RS raved about the LP and called its creator an “effective ambassador” for taking Amapiano global.

Home to hits like ‘Water,’ ‘Truth or Dare,’ ‘Jump,’ and more, Tyla’s March-released effort made history when it debuted on the Billboard 200 earlier this year.

She extended it a lifeline by releasing a deluxe edition that features the warmly received cut ‘Push 2 Start.’
