Tory Lanez‘s legal team may be boasting ownership of “new evidence” that will exonerate him after being convicted for his involvement in the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, but her lawyers are now calling their bluff.

As Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) continues to serve a 10-year sentence for his connection to the 2020 firearm assault of Meg, his legal team began petitioning the governor of California for his pardon.

This, after he was reportedly stabbed 14 times in a vicious attack behind bars.

Just last week, Peterson’s legal reps held a press conference to announce they had “new evidence” that would see his sentencing reversed once presented to an appeals board.  However, they’ve yet to officially file the necessary paperwork for said presentation.

Megan herself lashed out at Lanez’s supporters for circulating news of the “evidence” on Monday (May 19), and now her lawyers are following suit.

“Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence (that included his own admission of his guilt), he and his team – flanked by any ignorant person they can find – have pushed whatever misleading narrative they can,” Megan’s lawyer Alex Spiro said in a 31-page report released Thursday (May 22). “One by one, their misleading statements unravel and all that is left is the simple truth: he was convicted by overwhelming evidence and those who seek to traumatize the victim of the crime should be called out as foolish bullies.”

Their clapback comes just a day after Tory’s dad, Sonstar Peterson, took to Chris Cuomo‘s NewsNation show ‘CUOMO‘ to discuss his son’s recuperation after being stabbed.

“He’s being moved because it’s part of the prison’s protocol that when a situation like this happens. They believe it’s better for him to be in another facility, and so he is being moved as we speak,” he told Cuomo on Wednesday (May 21). “One thing of course, we are concerned about is because my son is a high-profile person and when things like this happen, there is always some kind of weird news going out trying to spin it to be something else.”
