The Raiders parted ways with head coach Antonio Pierce after a dismal 4-13 season, and Tom Brady has been actively involved in altering the team’s future. The Raiders hired two well-known individuals to oversee the team in the new era: Pete Carroll, a Super Bowl-winning head coach, and John Spytek, a former Buccaneers executive, as general manager.
Brady has close ties to both hiring, which has led to rumors that the quarterback-turned-owner played a big role in their selections.
In an interview with The Ryen Russillo Podcast, NFL insider Dianna Russini discussed Brady’s impact and disclosed that the seven-time Super Bowl champion is playing a crucial role behind the scenes.
According to Russini: “Let’s just start with making it really clear that Tom Brady is running everything in Vegas,”. “It’s all Tom Brady. I think there’s some rumors, some chatter – I’m telling you, it’s all Tom Brady there.”
The focus is on Tom Brady’s philosophy
Brady’s deployment of his TB12 health and fitness program across the corporation is among his most noteworthy efforts.
In order to maximize performance and longevity, the program—which he designed with his longtime trainer Alex Guerrero—focuses on flexibility, recuperation, and diet. Guerrero is currently working closely with Raiders players to teach them Brady’s techniques, Russini said.
According to Russini: “Even his own TB12 programs are being installed, so to speak. Alex Guerrero is out there. He’s going to be working with some of the players,”
“He is trying to do it and change the Raiders – and have a tremendous amount of influence on them.
“The guy knows how to win, obviously. Why not listen to him? I’d rather listen to Tom Brady calling everything than Mark Davis – no disrespect to Mark. Tom has a thought, an idea; he understands what it takes.”
In his first year of a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports as the network’s top NFL pundit, Brady has taken on a new role with the Raiders. His attempt at broadcasting, however, has drawn mixed reviews, and there have been whispers that he would leave for a more prominent position with the Raiders.
Brady has rejected any intentions to retire from broadcasting, despite rumors to the contrary. But given his substantial position in the Raiders’ operations, there are already concerns about how he will manage his two responsibilities going ahead.
