Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.
However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.
This week, we want to highlight cuts from Kali Uchis, J-Hope, Sam Williams, and Boygenius .
Join us inside…
Kali Uchis – Worth The Wait
R&B sensation Kali Uchis has just released her most recent album, ‘Red Moon Venus.’ On the project there are several collaborations, but none as strong as her collaboration with Omar Apollo. Named after the album’s title, ‘Worth The Wait’ is a sleek, seductive, R&B jam pack with loads of chemistry.

J-Hope – On The Street
Speaking of collaborations, BTS member J-Hope has now teamed with J. Cole for the song ‘On The Street.’ Across the song, the boys command the bombastic production with confidence and charisma. A strong showing from both, ‘On The Street’ gives us the collaboration we never knew we needed, but one we so rightly deserved.

Sam Williams – Lost Its Allure
Singer-songwriter Sam Williams has unveiled his vulnerable new song, ‘Lost Its Allure.’ A delicate piano ballad that details Williams’ struggle to find himself while grappling with self-doubt, the song is a powerful showing from one of the next generation’s most promising talents.

Boygenius – Not Strong Enough
Indie music super group boygenius (Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus) is gearing up to release their album ‘The Record’ on March 31 and to further promote the record, they have shared the song ‘Not strong Enough.’ A melodic melting pot of genius, each artist brings their A-game for a reflective tune worthy of standing among each of their best.
