Tems is rewriting the rules of global superstardom — and she’s just getting started.

In a new feature in Billboard Magazine, the Nigerian supernova mused on her life in the spotlight and the new music she’s been cooking up.

Speaking on the unexpected nature of fame, she said:

“Every day is something different, which is ­actually very exciting for me.

I’m always like, ‘Hmm, I wonder how today is going to go. I wonder what’s going to happen.’”

After achieving success with her debut album ‘Born in the Wild‘ and earning a GRAMMY for its signature song ‘Love Me JeJe,’ Tems has her eyes on what’s next, she said:

“My 20s, they’ve been eventful. I’ve gotten used to the uncertainty.

I hope it stays that way. I hope it doesn’t slow down.”

She’s already teasing new music, revealing she’s recorded over 7,000 voice memos :

“I’m not even thinking about the outside world. I’m more concerned with the creation of the art than the acknowledgment.”

Tems added:

 “I’m really excited about [new music] that sounds nothing like Born in the Wild.”
