Greatness cannot be ignored indefinitely. Sydel Curry-Lee, the sister of Warriors player Stephen Curry, set aside her animosity toward Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to commend his excellent performance. Sydel acknowledges the Canadian star as the NBA’s possible MVP this season, despite her complaints about SGA’s antics on social media concerning her brother.
Sydell needed to vent about Shai on an episode of Straight to Cam, the podcast she cohosts with WNBA player Cameron Brink, when the two talked about contemporary narratives surrounding the NBA. The two-time All-Star is well-known for his witty remarks and Instagram photos.
Sydel comments on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s MVP claim
Sydel objected to Stephen Curry’s volley of nuanced insults from Gilgeous-Alexander. She stated:
“He crosses up Stephen right, goes behind the back. Stephen gets off balance, great move. You posted the shot, but why are there four other lips of him against Stephen and no other player gets other posts? I don’t like that.”
Perhaps the most protective of the Curry siblings, Sydel is the youngest. She must give credit where credit is due, even though she is prepared to defend her bigger brother. Sydel may easily harbor resentment, but she shows maturity by staying impartial, going on:
“Great player though, I think he should get MVP in my opinion.”
Gilgeous-Alexander has led the Thunder to an NBA-best 37-8 record and is having a fantastic season.
