Tinashe‘s comeback hit ‘Nasty‘ may have been snubbed from competing at the 2025 GRAMMYs, but it’s still collecting awards.
While Sweet T is busy rocking venues around the world on her ‘Match My Freak World Tour,’ ‘Nasty’ – the tune that inspired the jaunt’s title – is still rocking digital streaming and sales outlets over seven months after its debut.
So much so, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press on Tuesday (November 12) to announce the Ricky Reed-produced cut had crossed its threshold for a Gold certification.
For context, the measure denotes sales equivalence of 500,000 units in the United States.
Coming as the second RIAA-certified hit of her career following her 2014 breakthrough single ‘2 On‘ featuring Schoolboy Q, ‘Nasty’ marks a career milestone as it becomes the first solo song of her career to be awarded a Gold plaque.
The news comes just months after the tune also became one of her highest-charting hits on the Billboard Hot 100 yet.
Note: It’s worth noting that Tinashe has been featured on multiple RIAA-certified songs over the last decade, however, the organization only credits certification counts to lead acts.
