Nicki Minaj Receives a Public Apology From Kendrick Perkins

Kendrick Perkins has expressed regret for claiming that Nicki Minaj isn’t as well-liked as Taylor Swift or Beyoncé when discussing the Golden State Warriors’ acquisition of Jimmy Butler.

Perk said he was disappointed by the Warriors‘ trade for Butler on this week’s NBA Today trade deadline special. Using Bey, T Swift, and Minaj as examples, the 40-year-old former NBA player stated that he was expecting the Warriors to make a big move by acquiring a top player rather than settle for Butler.

Perkins, whose statement stunned the NBA Today crew, said: “I was looking for the Warriors. I’m thinking they’re going to go out there and get a Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, but they ended up getting a Nicki Minaj,”

Kendrick Perkins apologizes to Nicki Minaj and her fans

When the Barbz learned about Perk’s remark, they harassed him on social media until he swiftly apologized and said he was unaware of the notorious fan club.

Perkins posted on Twitter: “Wish I would’ve known about the Barbz before my Nicki Minaj take… don’t charge it to my heart,”  “My apologies, I don’t want no smoke!”

During an NBA Today show, Perkins also apologized, saying: “Let me apologize to Nicki Minaj and the Barbz. They been on my ass like pockets. I apologize, I’m a fan. Please forgive me.”

Butler allegedly agreed to a two-year, $121 million contract deal with the Warriors, which will last through the 2026–2027 season, after being traded to them on Thursday. Butler responded to all of the discussion about the sale by tweeting, “welcome to the wild wild west.”
