The focus of the Dallas Cowboys’ offseason talks is their star linebacker, Micah Parsons. Parsons continues to participate in the Cowboys’ activities even though he hasn’t been to the team’s recent voluntary workouts.
In an effort to continue performing at his best, he has been training one-on-one with Lance Deane, his offseason coach, at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
Parsons, who will make almost $24 million in 2025, is starting the fifth year of his rookie contract. The Cowboys are under pressure to sign him to a long-term contract because of his outstanding play, which included at least 12 sacks in each of his first four seasons.

With athletes like Myles Garrett setting new standards, the market for top edge rushers has grown.
According to reports, Parsons is pursuing a contract that would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The estimated five-year agreement would be worth approximately $175 million, with $125 million guaranteed.
The majority of the issues have been examined and decided upon, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who has acknowledged the necessity for an extension. Formal negotiations have not yet begun, though. Concerns regarding possible holdouts as the season draws near are raised by the delay in finishing Parsons’ contract, which is similar to past circumstances involving other important players.
