yren Lacy, a standout wide receiver for the LSU Tigers, is currently wanted on charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run. The charges stem from a fatal incident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Lacy is alleged to have been involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian via WAFB

Authorities have issued a warrant for Lacy’s arrest and are actively seeking his whereabouts. The LSU Athletics Department has acknowledged the situation and stated that they are cooperating fully with law enforcement. They have also indicated that Lacy has been suspended from all team activities pending the outcome of the investigation.

A Louisiana State Police document contains the following allegations about the incident: As Lacy was illegally passing the other vehicles, the driver of a northbound lane pickup truck abruptly braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with the approaching Dodge. Traveling behind the pickup truck was a Kia Cadenza whose driver swerved left to avoid the oncoming Dodge Charger. As the Kia Cadenza took evasive action to avoid impact with the Dodge, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound Kia Sorrento. Following the crash, Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on LA Hwy 20 without stopping to render aid, call emergency services, or report his involvement in the crash. A passenger in the Kia Sorrento, Herman Hall of Thibodaux, was critically injured in the 10 a.m. crash and transported to a hospital where he later died, investigators said. Hall, age 78, was a former Marine. Louisiana State Police said LSP detectives and troopers were able to determine that Lacy was driving the Dodge Charger at the time. In LSU’s most recent season, Lacy led the Tigers in receiving touchdowns (9) and was second on the team in catches (58) and receiving yards (866).

Lacy, who transferred to LSU from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, has been a key player for the Tigers, contributing significantly to their offense this past season. His arrest could have serious implications for his football career and legal standing.

Negligent homicide in Louisiana is defined as the killing of a human being by criminal negligence and carries severe penalties, including potential imprisonment. Felony hit-and-run involves leaving the scene of an accident that results in serious injury or death, which also carries significant legal consequences.

As this is an ongoing investigation, more details are expected to emerge. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Lacy’s whereabouts to come forward.
