Four-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers mainstay LeBron James has long been the subject of trade rumors. Carmelo Anthony, a close friend and former teammate of James’, recently rejected the notion that James would be transferred, pointing to LeBron’s influence over his professional choices.
The NBA veteran recently discussed how clubs approach James with trade options on an episode of Anthony’s 7PM in Brooklyn podcast. “Front offices are attempting to determine what bundles they can assemble. “They’re calling to see how interested they are,” Anthony clarified. “LeBron makes the trades,” he said confidently despite this. He will make it happen if he wants to be traded. For now, that window is closed.
LeBron James and his superb career
James’ dominance and stature in the NBA are demonstrated by the fact that, in contrast to many other superstars, he has never been traded in his 20-year career. James turned down offers at the trade deadline last season, putting an end to talks of a possible trade. Anthony says it’s equally unlikely that LeBron will be dealt this season.

This opinion is further supported by Jovan Buha of The Athletic, who claims that the Lakers’ front management views James and Anthony Davis as “untouchables.” “Two players who almost certainly won’t be traded, barring them asking out of Los Angeles, are Davis and James,” Buha said.
It’s interesting to note that Carmelo Anthony has previously talked about trades including the Lakers.
