LeBron James Claims That the Referee Who Dismissed Luka Doncic Took It Personally

Although the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in a heartbreaking game, Luka Doncic‘s abrupt expulsion was the main topic of conversation that evening.

After a second technical foul in the fourth quarter, the All-Star guard was sent out, and LeBron James was not happy with the outcome. The Lakers had a slim 108-107 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the game after Doncic made a layup.

Shortly after, he was observed conversing with a fan by the court. After determining that the exchange was aimed at him, referee J.T. Orr immediately called a second technical penalty, sending Doncic off the field.

He was spotted conversing with a courtside supporter a little while after. Doncic was immediately ejected from the game as referee J.T. Orr viewed the exchange as being directed at him and gave him a second technical violation.

After the game, Doncic said that his remarks were directed at the spectator rather than the referee. He stated: “I never got a fan ejected, never, but if you’re gonna talk, I’m gonna talk back like always,” “That had nothing to do with the ref.”

LeBron James, who scored 26 points in the game, defended his buddy. James stated: “It was a weird couple minutes after that, starting with the ejection,”

“I don’t know why the ref was taking it personal. He had already given Luka one… Luka was going back and forth with someone sitting courtside… The ref took it upon himself. It was on him.”

The Lakers lost control after Doncic departed the game. The Lakers lost 136-120 to Oklahoma City, who finished the game with a commanding 28-11 run. The Lakers’ flow was obviously upset by the dismissal, which completely changed the tide of the game in the Thunder’s favor.
