‘Last Night’: Morgan Wallen Breaks Harry Styles-Held Hot 100 Record for Longest-Running Solo #1 Hit of All Time

Unequivocally, the Hot 100 run of Morgan Wallen‘s ‘Last Night‘ is nothing short of astounding.

The inaugural #1 hit on Pop charts for the music superstar, the Joey Moi-produced tune – found aboard Wallen’s blockbuster tertiary release ‘One Thing at a Time‘ – already made history when it became the first Country song by a solo male act to top the hitlist since 1981.

This week, thanks to a whopping 16th print in the tally’s summit position, it’s been penciled in Billboard books for becoming the overall longest-running solo #1 hit of all time.

Just 11 months after the ‘Rolling Stone’-crowned King of Pop Harry Styles set the record for longest-running #1 hit by a solo act courtesy of the gargantuan success of his ‘Harry’s House‘ hit ‘As It Was,‘ the British Pop sensation has been dethroned.

As seen in our weekly Hot 100 recap, TGJ Chart Check, Morgan remained at the top of the chart for a whopping 16th week – not only making ‘Last Night’ the longest #1 run for a non-collaboration but also gives him the honor of having the longest-running #1 hit of the 2020s.

Now in a three-way tie for the second-longest reign in the tally’s overall 65-year history, look below to see how ‘Last Night’ stacks up against the all-time competition.
