Kevin Durant Accepts Responsibility for the Suns’ Loss

Last night, the Phoenix Suns were defeated by the Indiana Pacers at home. The Pacers outscored the Suns in the third quarter and gained a significant lead to win the game 120-111, but it was still close at the half. Kevin Durant explained what went wrong on his end and accepted full responsibility for the defeat during the post-game press conference.

Compared to their opponents, the club committed nearly twice as many turnovers. This ultimately proved to be the cause of the defeat. When questioned about his team’s turnover issue, KD stated that allowing 29 points to be scored off of turnovers would inevitably result in a defeat.

When questioned about his team’s turnover issue, KD stated that allowing 29 points to be scored off of turnovers would inevitably result in a defeat. Even though a number of the team’s players committed many turnovers, Durant accepted responsibility: “29 points off our turnovers, that’s a game. I can’t lead the team in turnovers.”

Kevin Durant is being humble even with good performances

With 37 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in 38 minutes, KD had a respectable performance. However, with five TOs, he also had the most on his team.

The standout player for the Suns admitted that while his squad excelled in shooting and other areas of the game, they need to stop giving over the ball. The Suns committed 16 turnovers overall, while the Pacers only committed nine.

KD’s three of six three-pointers and 15 of 27 field goals will instill optimism in Suns supporters for the upcoming games. The injuries in the camp have been the primary cause of the Suns’ recent decline. With a 14-12 record, they are now ranked #9 in the Western Conference and have dropped five of their previous ten games. Due to an injury, their guard Devin Booker missed the game in the third quarter.

Booker scored 17 points while playing the entire first half. He did not, however, appear on the Suns bench during the third quarter. It was soon discovered that he missed the remainder of the game due to tightness in his left groin.
