A once-talented young NFL player named Kelvin Joseph Jr. was taken into custody in Texas in relation to a deadly collision. The former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys was arrested Saturday morning following the death of a 27-year-old motorcyclist in Richardson, Texas.
The Richardson Police Department’s Facebook page explains that at around five in the morning, police were summoned to the scene of a collision and discovered Cody Morris, of Plano, Texas, dead. The car was the only one there.
About forty minutes later, Joseph called Plano Police, who said they had been in a car accident with the motorcycle while in a BMW sedan.
When they spoke with Joseph, officers say they also noticed indications that he was drunk, and they took him into custody. Joseph was taken into custody for driving under the influence and causing a collision that resulted in death or serious harm. As of Saturday afternoon, he remains detained, and no bond has been set in his case.
The Cowboys selected Kelvin in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. During four NFL seasons, he appeared in 33 games for the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, and Cowboys. He presently plays for the DC Defenders, a UFL squad.
