Kadarius Toney Arrested on Suspicion of Strangulation

Two-time Super Bowl winner and former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney was arrested last week on suspicion of strangling a woman during a fight. According to reports, the incident happened at a Georgia home on January 14.

Kadarius Toney is having major legal issues

Toney is charged with putting his hands around the woman’s throat firmly enough to impede her breathing, according to police records that TMZ was able to get.

Later, medical professionals verified that the purported victim had visible wounds, such as petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes and red stains on her neck. Toney is also accused of strangling the woman and stealing her phone so she couldn’t call 911 during the fight.

Warrants for his arrest were issued on January 15. After reportedly interfering with a 911 call, Toney was arrested on February 6 and is charged with obstruction of justice and aggravated assault (strangulation).

For each charge, a $25,000 bond was imposed. Toney had a short and turbulent time with the Chiefs after being selected by the New York Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft. He helped the team win Super Bowls LVII and LVIII after joining them in a trade in the middle of the 2022 season.

His influence on the field was, however, constrained by injuries and diversions off the field. In the summer of 2024, the Chiefs finally cut ties with a player who had trouble staying fit and living up to expectations.
