Just a week after ‘Christmas’ was crowned the highest-certified female hit in history, the yuletide favorite – thanks to its 17th frame at #1 – is now the longest-running #1 hit by a female artist in the 66-year history of the Hot 100.
Previously tied with Carey’s own ‘One Sweet Day‘ for the record, the holiday hit is now the sole owner of the title.
Among all the longest-running #1 hits, only Shaboozey‘s ‘Bar Song‘ and Lil Nas X‘s ‘Old Town Road‘ have stayed in position longer (19 weeks each).
The newest print at #1 also extends Mariah’s record for most career weeks atop the Hot 100 (96).
