On Wednesday, November 13, NBA slam dunk champion Desmond Mason was imprisoned for contempt of court after he did not show up for a hearing during his ongoing divorce from his wife.
In an attempt to distance himself from Andrea Mason, the former Oklahoma City Thunder player was arrested and taken into custody by law enforcement. He was later released from the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a $50,000 bail.
Desmond Mason was charged with contempt of court for not showing up at the docks despite being told to do so, but it’s still unclear who is divorcing whom. He was booked in at noon and released at 21:34.

Mason’s career reached its zenith in 2004–05, when he averaged 17.2 points, 2.7 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game in 80 games, including 71 starts, as the Bucks finished with a 30-52 record, 13th in the Eastern Conference.
The Waxahacie, Texas, native works as an NBA analyst and radio co-host for The Franchise, which features the former shooting guard/small forward as a focal point for the Thunder. He also has an interest for art.
“I paint by emotion so everything I create is a piece of me to some extent,” Mason stated in 2013 in reference to his artistic technique. He had already been hired to create some paintings honoring the Bucks following their victory in the 2021 NBA Finals.
