Although hot on the promo trail for her new film ‘No Address,’ singer-actress Ashanti has finally addressed when her dedicated fans will get their hands on a new song she’s been teasing for nearly a year.

In March 2024, the GRAMMY winner (born Ashanti Douglas) stunned her fans with the announcement that her new song ‘Call You Up‘ would finally be making its way to the net alongside its official music video.

Presumably put on the back burner because Douglas gave birth to her first child a few months later, however, 2025 is seeing the singer-actress is back to business with a new movie headed to theaters on February 28.

As if that’s not enough to celebrate, she’s also prepping a new reality TV show, new tour, and – according to a recent interview with ‘ET’ – new music in the form of the long-awaited ‘Call.’

“I do have new music coming; I’m very excited. I have a record called ‘Call You Up’ and I actually shot the video in Bermuda. It’s so dope; I cannot wait for you guys to see it,” she revealed to the show’s resident anchor Deidre Behar (as seen in the video above).

And while Ashanti would not confirm if the song will be part of a larger project (namely her first album since 2014’s ‘BraveHeart‘), the 44-year-old did share the tune will arrive in April.

Sure to excite her legion of dedicated fans, the new single news comes just weeks after Douglas dropped a repurposed version of her 11-year-old song ‘Bonafide Survivor‘ for the ‘Address’ soundtrack.
