American Express has just launched a new app that promises to be a one-stop shop for getting travel inspiration, learning card benefits, and booking travel arrangements. The banking titan shared a press release about the Amex Travel App in mid-September. The information noted that through the new app, card members will receive personalized travel content and guides. They will also be able to book their flights, car rentals, and hotels directly on the app. Travelers should note that the only accommodations available for booking on the Amex Travel App are part of the banking heavyweight’s Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection programs.

For card members who enjoy stopping by the Centurion Lounge when they jet set, the Amex Travel App will provide estimated wait times for entry, allowing them to navigate the airport more efficiently.

Arguably one of the app’s coolest features is Amex Passport, where card-holding globetrotters can collect customizable digital passport stamps. In addition to having the digital keepsake for themselves, travelers will also be able to share the stamps on social media or text their earnings to loved ones.

“Part of the magic of travel is reminiscing about past getaways, and commemorative keepsakes are a powerful way for travelers to relive their favorite trips,” stated Luke Gebb, Executive Vice President at Amex Digital Labs. “As physical passport stamps continue to disappear, Amex Passport creates an opportunity for Card members to celebrate their travels.”

What Else Is There To Know About The Amex Travel App?

American Express released the app on September 18 for iOS users. The press release stated that the new tool would be available to Android users “a few weeks thereafter.”

The banking company teases that the future features on the Amex Travel App will include additional destination information for cardholders and “overviews of their travel and card benefits.” Additionally, travelers can expect personalized hotel recommendations tailored to their individual tastes and desired experiences.
