Draymond Green is undoubtedly a divisive figure. After all, he hasn’t made it simple for people who aren’t Golden State Warriors supporters to like him. Green has received multiple suspensions for committing technical and egregious infractions, including hitting his own teammate. Although he irritates a lot of people, that is also what has made him a fantastic NBA player.
Green is still making a significant contribution to the Warriors at the age of 35, but he has already laid the groundwork for his future as a player. He frequently appears on TNT’s basketball broadcast coverage and runs a podcast with former NBA point guard Baron Davis.
After all is said and done, however, a recent scandal has many questioning whether he should even be permitted to pursue a career in broadcasting.
The Karl-Anthony Towns controversy involving Draymond Green might come back to haunt him
A few days ago, Green made a ridiculous allegation, “reporting” that Karl-Anthony Towns missed the New York Knicks’ game against the Warriors because he was trying to avoid Jimmy Butler. Butler and Towns had previously argued while playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Towns missed the game because of a close family friend’s burial, it was later disclosed. Green expressed his condolences to Towns during a press conference, but he gave a peculiar response.
He stated that his podcast “must go on” after claiming to have “heard” something different.
In essence, fabricating a rumor based on something he heard—who knows from whom—raises doubts about his credibility as an on-air commentator. Even after he stops playing, it will be difficult for him to shed his reputation as a nasty guy.
