Cory Hardrict Reportedly Denies Tia Mowry's 'Irreconcilable Differences’ Divorce Claims, Requests Joint Custody Of Kids, Spousal Support Might Be On The Table

Cory Hardrict has reportedly responded to Tia Mowry’s divorce filing, refuting his estranged wife’s claim that “irreconcilable differences” are the reason their union is ending. He also demands joint custody of their two children, and it seems spousal support isn’t totally off the table. In October, the 44-year-old mom dropped a bombshell announcement, revealing she was parting ways with her actor husband after 14 years of marriage and over two decades of being together. It felt like the uncoupling came out of nowhere, as the couple often posted about one another on social media, confessing their love for one another. The “Sister, Sister” alum cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her divorce in her petition. In the filing, she listed her wedding date as 2008 and did not list a date of separation. The Cooking Channel host asked the court to grant her and Cory joint physical and legal custody of their two children—son, Cree, 11, and daughter, Cairo, 4. She requested that both she and Cory not be awarded spousal support and revealed they signed a prenuptial agreement before walking down the aisle. Laura Wasser, a celebrity attorney, was hired by the actress to handle the case. Cory has responded to the divorce, denying that "irreconcilable differences" was a factor in their uncoupling. In addition, he agreed to joint legal and physical custody of their two children. He did, however, ask the court to terminate his ex-wife's right to spousal support and left unchecked the boxes on the paperwork indicating whether he wanted to seek spousal support from his ex. Cory's lawyer also included a note in the response, stating that he wanted the court to rule on "the validity of the prenuptial agreement dated April 14, 2008 and/or that any provisions are unconscionable." OH? News of Cory’s response comes days after Tia shared her Christmas plans, which include her spending the holidays with her ex and their two children. "Yes, we are going to be spending the holidays with him, which we're really excited about," Tia told the paparazzi when she was asked about her holiday plans. “With the whole family.” When asked if she believes more families should put aside their differences to spend the holidays together, she replied, "I mean, family is family no matter what happens, and that's what's important to me. We will always be family." There were rumors that Cory cheated on Tia and that’s what prompted the divorce, but Cory denied those claims in the comments on Instagram. On the track, Nas raps, "Reminisce/Relationships ain’t the prettiest/I was stuck on the silliness/ Was it love that I was really in?/ We don’t know until it really end/ But then, it’s too late, reminisce/ Reminisce” Hours before he went live, Tia appeared appeared on daytime television where she revealed the “aha moment” she had before deciding to call it quits with her husband of 14 years. “I knew when I really started to focus on my happiness,” the 44-year-old mom said on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna. “I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else’s happiness, making sure that everybody else is OK — meaning our children, our friends, our family, but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love.” She added, “When you start to really work on yourself, love yourself, know your value and know your worth, then all of a sudden, there’s this awakening. And it’s not easy. It’s a hard journey, but at the end of the day, I feel like it is so, so worth it,” she explained as she was met with applause from the audience. We wish them both the best.
