Beyonce Becomes the FIRST Black Artist to Win Best Country Album in GRAMMY History

Beyonce‘s penciled her name in GRAMMY history books yet again, this time for a surprise win during Sunday night’s main show (February 2).

Defeating Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, Kacey Musgraves, and Chris Stapleton for the honor, Bey captured the night’s Best Country Album trophy for ‘Cowboy Carter.’

Presented by Taylor Swift, the win comes as a first for any Black artist in the 67-year history of the GRAMMYs.

Following a historic win in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance earlier in the night, Bey’s overall golden gramophone count sits at 34 – extending her record for being the show’s most-decorated act yet.
