No one is more aware of the stress involved in managing a sports club than Mark Cuban. One of the most outspoken executives in sports, the former owner of the Dallas Mavericks has talked about his career more candidly than most owners of major sports teams.

Fans are aware of Cuban’s disapproval of the Luka Dončić trade because of his openness to communication. Cuban publicly declared that he would not have exchanged Dončić. The general manager of the Mavericks, Nico Harrison, was also chastised by him for not negotiating a better contract.

Cuban’s attendance at Wednesday’s game, which saw Dončić return to Dallas for the first time since the trade, was expected given his close relationship to both the Mavericks and Dončić. The Lakers won 112-97.

Cuban was at the game when Mavericks supporters once again voiced their disapproval of the contract and demanded Harrison’s termination. Cuban’s response to such cries was intriguing.

When he heard Mavericks supporters yell, “Fire Nico!” Cuban, 66, put his face in his hands and shook his head. Cuban was wearing a grim frown when he finally raised his head.
