Anthony Edwards Claims Timberwolves Are “Growing Apart”

Last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves raised the bar for themselves by making it to the Western Conference Finals. They appear to be crumbling under the weight of those expectations in addition to not living up to them. The team’s mindset was discussed by franchise center Anthony Edwards following the team’s recent defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

Ant-Man was unwilling to hide his team’s shortcomings after the Wolves had lost four straight games. The team is currently “trash,” he acknowledged, and their “front-runner” mentality is causing them to drift apart.

Chris Hine claims that after asking the reporters what they wanted to know, the Wolves star launched a harsh attack on the Minnesota team without waiting for a response. Hine wrote about X:  “Anthony Edwards to the media. “Y’all wanna talk to me? (Yes.) What you wanna know, why we’re trash?” Proceeded to say the Wolves, including himself, look like a bunch of “front runners” right now.”

Anthony Edwards claimed that when the team loses, “nobody say nothing,” therefore all of the anthems and cheers are reserved for when they win. He added: “That’s the definition of a frontrunner. We as a team, including myself, we all was frontrunners tonight. It was some bullsh*t, for sure.”

The 23-year-old also conveyed his dissatisfaction with the team’s internal problems. He stated: “Not to the other team, but like internally we soft, like we can’t talk to each other. Just a bunch of little kids, just like we playing with a bunch of little kids.” “However many of us it is, all 15, we go into our own shell and we’re just growing away from each other. It’s obvious. We can see it. I can see it, the team can see it, the coaches can see it.”

They can’t afford to continue along this path for very long, Ant added. The Wolves are having trouble in more than one area while he is away. The franchise has also had trouble with their defense. They’re still working to improve their defense, and Ant stated that they’ll keep trying until they discover a solution.
