The actress – who was placed on a 5150 hold last Sunday after roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked – is “seriously focusing on getting better” as she remains hospitalized, according to TMZ.
A source told the outlet that Bynes, 36, hasn’t been speaking to anyone close to her, noting that it’s unclear whether she remembers the several days she spent wandering around LA.
Bynes’ attorney did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
The embattled “She’s the Man” star, who was previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was likely living “on the streets for days” before she called the cops on herself upon suffering a mental break, TMZ reported earlier this week.
Sources close to Bynes told the outlet that her car had been towed in Long Beach, Calif., on March 15 — four days before she was found.
The vehicle was located 40 miles from her home, and 15 miles from where she was found in downtown Los Angeles, leading the outlet’s sources to believe she was hitchhiking or taking public transportation
After making her way to Hollywood, Bynes was spotted in a fan’s TikTok video, filmed on March 17.
“Amanda, say, ‘What’s up?’” social media user @kaitlynhotfox said to the camera, before Bynes responded, “What’s up?”
The young influencer noted that she had seen the actress on St. Patrick’s Day and felt compelled to say hello.
In the video’s caption, she made it clear that Bynes was unwell at the time of their interaction,
“Happy shes [sic] getting the help she needs. she was sweet, gave her some money and talked. sometime ppl [sic] just sb [sic] to talk to,” she wrote.
While the initial 5150 hold lasts just 72 hours, Bynes’ stay will likely be extended until she fully recovers.
Meanwhile, Byne’s ex-fiancé, Paul Michael, alleged to us that she had been “off her meds” prior to her psychiatric episode.
The former couple were spotted out together as recently as December 2022. However, Bynes ended their engagement in July 2022 after accusing him of not “taking his medications,” relapsing with “crack cocaine” and watching “mom-and-son porn.”
