It’s been the longest and rockiest road, but this week brought with it a breakthrough for RAYE. For, the gifted singer/songwriter has finally unlocked her debut studio album, ‘My 21st Century Blues.’

Renowned for her guest appearances on the tracks of others, as well as her potent pen game when creating cuts with the likes of Beyonce, the British belle had longed to release a project of her own.

After severing ties with her longtime major label, RAYE set sights on achieving that goal independently and struck gold with her seismic viral smash ‘Escapism.’

An omnipresent chart-topper, the song magnetized a whole new audience and set the firmest of foundations for the rising star to spring from with her eclectic LP.

Speaking on the 13-track set, which also includes songs such as ‘Black Mascara.’ and ‘Hard Out Here.’ RAYE said:

“My 21st Century Blues. My debut album. My ugly complex beautiful mosaic formed from broken pieces of glass from the last 7 years of my life. My medicine, my anxieties and traumas, my unfiltered thoughts. This music accompanied me through my bluest blues, crafted unapologetically and fearlessly with love and tears, and now I can only hope it might provide the same medicine it did for me, for those who choose to listen. I can’t believe it is really happening. My first album.”
