After announcing the date for the final episode of “Around the Horn,” ESPN is ending one of its longest-running programs. In its 23 years of existence, the program has aired more than 4,900 episodes. However, after May 23, it will no longer be broadcast.
Tony Reali began hosting “Around the Horn” in 2002 and has been doing so since 2004. Numerous well-known panelists have graced its studio over the years, including Clinton Yates, Bomani Jones, Mina Kimes, Woody Paige, Bill Plaschke, Bob Ryan, Sarah Spain, Pablo Torre, and Jemele Hill.

ESPN makes statement on “Around the Horn”
ESPN has stated that other scheduling changes will be revealed at a later time, and that a 30-minute SportsCenter program will air after it concludes.
In a press statement, David Roberts, executive vice president and executive editor of sports news and entertainment at ESPN, stated:
“Around the Horn has had a remarkable run of more than two decades. That kind of longevity in media is incredibly rare, and we look forward to celebrating the show’s many accomplishments before the final sign-off in May,”
“Beyond Tony and the ensemble of on-air contributors, we are particularly grateful to the production team led by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon, who have been instrumental in ATH’s consistent success since the very beginning.”
It is believed that ESPN is now reorganizing its schedule and making additional talent cuts. It is planned to cancel some shows and replace them with new ones. Even broadcast rights agreements are being eliminated by the network, which last week terminated its contract with Major League Baseball.
In anticipation of the direct-to-consumer service’s introduction, The Worldwide Leader In Sports has made these adjustments.
