Russell Wilson‘s team The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback sweepstakes are still in progress as of Monday, March 17. Free agent Russell Wilson must also watch in silence while supporters of the black and gold await word from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is now torn between the Steelers, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, or retirement.
The 36-year-old quarterback is currently being connected to the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh, and New York (although in passing), but no offers have been made as two of those teams are also interested in Rodgers.
Wilson made no secret of his desire to re-sign with Pittsburgh during the season.

Additionally, according to a Monday essay by team source Gerry Dulac, Russ would still choose to play for the Steelers this fall despite the outside visits and the interest from the A-Rodg.
On Monday, Dulac wrote the following for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “Wilson visited with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday and the Giants on Friday but did not reach an agreement with either team,” “His preference is to re-sign with the Steelers, but it has become apparent the team is not in any hurry to do so, if at all.”
Dulac added: “will not give any quarterback they bring in anything more than a one-year contract. That is what the Steelers are offering Rodgers. Sources said the delay in the Steelers’ discussions with Rodgers was not about money.”
“At some point, no matter who might be the designated starter, the Steelers will draft a quarterback either this year or next with the hope he will become their long-term starter.”
As it becomes increasingly clear that the Steelers will not be able to make a real playoff push without a reliable quarterback, the scenario in the Steel City is extremely intriguing. Wilson and Rodgers are both suitable bridges for another season because they are both experienced. However, Pittsburgh will need to undergo a significant reassessment (perhaps another Mason Rudolph era?) if both alternatives fail.
