Over two decades after Brandy and Monica topped charts with ‘The Boy is Mine’ – one of the biggest duets of all time – the latter took to the red carpet of Clive Davis’ annual pre-GRAMMY Gala on Saturday (February 3) to indicate she is open to the possibility of reuniting with her fellow R&B icon for a redo.
As Brandy prepped for her show-stopping performance at the main ceremony on Sunday night (February 4), Mo dazzled on the red carpet of Saturday’s pre-GRAMMY gala.
While there, she chatted it up with ‘ET‘ resident anchor Denny Directo and reflected on her fondest memories of the prestigious award show.
“I didn’t totally expect to win. I knew that the record was amazing enough to win, so I came without expectation, and that made the celebration even greater,” the 43-year-old diva said about the song’s 1999 GRAMMY win for ‘Boy.’
When quizzed on if she would like to reunite with B-Rocka for another shot at a golden gramophone win, Monica – who recently addressed their rumored longtime feud – made clear she is open to the possibility.
“I believe anything is possible. We’re both adult women now who fully understand the business and how much we both mean to it and how much it means when we come together,” she relayed. “Anything is possible, anything. I say that with my heart.”
The revelation, which comes nearly 12 years after the duo joined forces for the R&B chart top 40 hit ‘It All Belongs to Me,‘ arrives as a timely one as Monica is reportedly putting the finishing touches on two new albums.
