Conveniently, the production team found this location when it was temporarily unoccupied, which made it the perfect pace to film at. As supervising location manager Ben Mangham shared with Country & Town House, “The [owner] was refurbishing her house – four floors, five bedrooms, basement swimming pool – in leafy St John’s Wood, and her house was empty and free for the whole summer, […] It is very rare that you come across a location like that – basically we got very lucky. Otherwise, production would have had to have built this fabulous set in a studio, because a lot of the show played out in the house.”

Those who pay a visit to this London filming location may recognize the area as the backdrop for many different scenes including Cherry’s awkward interactions with Daniel’s parents and messy confrontations between Cherry and Laura. While this area grounds much of the story in one central location, it also embodies Laura’s sophistication and the higher-than-thou mindset she embodies.

As reported by Elle, “Part of Princess Diana’s family owns the villa, and she has stayed many times. There were a lot of pictures of her in the house… They also have a lot of natural, beautiful areas leading up to the house. The actors felt at home because we spent nearly four weeks there.” 

Some of the most charming features include sweeping terraces, swimming pools and a private heliport. The scenic beauty here is unmatched and gives viewers a glimpse into how the other half lives. This filming location brought some texture to the series, so characters were in vibrant environments while the simmering tensions rose. Beyond the villa, the crew shot around Málaga, Ronda and Marbella for a mix of urban streets, dramatic countryside and elegant old town settings.

Things to Do: The Paseo Maritimo De Marbella and Parque de la Alameda are two popular attractions. These locations are five minutes apart, too, so travelers can easily commute between them.
