Folk ought to giddy-up because the chart showdown between Beyonce and Dua Lipa is heating up in the UK.

As reported, the Pop divas are both vying for the #1 spot on the Official UK Singles Chart with their latest offerings – ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ from Beyonce and ‘Training Season’ from Lipa.

Queen Bey’s track has already placed at #9 on the tally – with just a few days of sales after its surprise release on Super Bowl Sunday and a slick assist from a splashy Verizon commercial.

And its momentum has been seismic.

For British belle Lipa, ‘Training Season’ benefits from the buzz around preceding single ‘Houdini’ (which peaked at #2 on the coveted count). Both tracks are lifted from her forthcoming third studio album.

So, how are the numbers presently stacking up?

While the initial count had Lipa ahead by 3000 copies, Mrs. Carter is now leading the race by 1500 copies. 

It’s of note that ‘Texas’ is also besting ‘Training Season’ across Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. All of which bodes well for its chances come the final count.

Should the Country-kissed cut triumph, it will become Beyonce’s sixth solo UK #1 and her first in 14 years. It also sets up her new album, ‘Act II’ of a three-act arc, handsomely ahead of its March 29 release.
