Some thieves managed to break into Ja Morant’s house and stole a bunch of expensive stuff. And we’re not talking small change here, folks. They made off with expensive jewelry, bags, and watches worth a whopping $1 million!
These thieves knew exactly what they were after. They snatched up all the expensive jewelry, bags, and watches they could find. I guess when you’re breaking into a professional basketball player’s home, you know there’s going to be some serious bling lying around.
Ja Morant must be devastated. Imagine coming home to find your precious belongings missing, especially ones worth such a fortune. It’s not just the material value, but also the sentimental attachment that makes it a tough pill to swallow.
According to the complaint, the Grizzlies player’s home was burglarized sometime after 4 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2024. The Grizzlies beat the Golden State Warriors 144-93 that night in Memphis. The burglars stole “jewelry, watches and luxury bags valued” at about $1 million, according to the complaint.
The seven migrants accused of the burglaries, members of a South American Theft Group (SATG), with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. If convicted, each would face a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
A federal criminal complaint unsealed on Tuesday reveals that, since around October 2024, the migrants have been targeting athletes from the NFL and NBA — breaking into their homes while the players were away competing in games.
In the meantime, let’s all hope that Ja Morant can recover from this ordeal and find some peace of mind. It’s not easy to come back from something like this, but with the support of his fans and loved ones, he’ll hopefully be back on track in no time. We are trusting the authorities to bring these thieves to book.
