Tamar Braxton Apologizes to Loni Love for “Big Back Cadillac” Insult: “That Was a Vulnerable Moment”

Nearly 10 years after being fired from ‘The Real’ talk show, ‘Love & War‘ hitmaker Tamar Braxton proved she still has no love for some of her former co-hosts – namely Loni Love.

And while Braxton’s most recent fat-shaming comments about the comedienne certainly didn’t garner smiles among critics, the GRAMMY nominee walked them back over the weekend with an official apology.

Tamar Braxton Blasts Loni Love

Ahead of rocking the 2025 BET Awards stage alongside Kirk Franklin, Muni Long, and Jamal Roberts, Braxton made headlines over BET Awards weekend for extending an olive branch to Loni after previously referring to the actress-comic as “big back Cadillac.”

Chatting it up with resident Breakfast Club anchor Loren LoRosa, Tamar addressed the comment and the backlash that ensued as a result.

“That is me being on NeNe’s show… I love NeNe. We have a lot of history. But that is an interview I’m not so proud of. There were cocktails involved, and I just feel like everything is not for the public,” she said after referring to the interview as “girlfriend kitchen talk.”

Later in the conversation the 48-year-old R&B diva formally backtracked on her offensive statement.

“I probably should say this out loud and in front of everybody… I apologize for calling her a Big Back Cadillac. That was just a vulnerable moment. And I apologize, Loni,” she said.

To further drive the point home, the ‘All the Way Home’ singer even admitted she was open to reconciling.
