Puma officially unveils LaMelo Ball’s latest signature sneakers, the MB.05

Ahead of his sixth NBA season, Puma has unveiled the fifth on-court signature shoe for LaMelo Ball, the MB.05.
Set to hit stores on Aug. 29 for $125, the three-quarter cut silhouette debuts in a fiery fluorescent pink colorway dubbed “World Tour,” which plays off Ball’s rockstar aesthetic. Homages to tattoos in the form of barbed wire trim adorn the ankles, while iridescent glitter underlays complement the Charlotte Hornets point guard’s flashy play and flamboyant style.

Similar to Ball’s last on-court signature, the MB.04, Nitrofoam technology covers the cushioning aspect, while a more bulbous design drifts closer to the lifestyle looks debuted by Ball and Puma through their LaFrance line of casual sneakers.
According to a news release from Puma, the MB.05 was “designed in collaboration with LaMelo Ball, who was heavily involved in the design process.” While the “World Tour” take leads Ball’s fifth on-court signature campaign, more “bold colorways” are scheduled to release this fall.
In addition to the five signature MB models, Ball and Puma have proven prolific in their ability to extend the reach of the 23-year-old star’s signature footprint.

On the court, collaborations with SLAM Magazine, Rick & Morty, and Dexter’s Laboratory have added collector cache to Ball’s Puma performance line. Quick turn retro releases and a range of low tops have made it so multiple MB models are available at once.
Off the court, forays into fashion via the Puma LaFrance and Puma LaFrance RNR have played off contemporary trends of puffy skate shoe aesthetic and the space age signifiers attached to Ball’s “Not From Here” persona.
As Ball approaches the 2025-26 NBA season, he comes off a 2024-25 run in which he averaged 25.2 points and 7.4 assists. Despite leading all Eastern Conference guards in fan voting, Ball was not selected for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
Those looking to lace Ball’s Puma MB.05 can purchase pairs on Aug. 29 via Puma and Foot Locker.
