Patrick Mahomes Sr. Claims That the John Rocker Bourbon Street Feud Was Staged

Last Monday, Patrick Mahomes Sr. conceded that the altercation between him and John Rocker on Bourbon Street was, in fact, “staged.” According to court documents acquired by TMZ Sports, the statement was made on February 13 by the father of NFL player Patrick Mahomes II as he was being questioned by officials over his trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

According to the documents, Mahomes Sr. was authorized to visit his son in Louisiana from February 7 to February 10. However, officials wanted to know more after he got into a fight with Rocker and then failed to show up for a urine test on February 11.

Officials were supposed to reprimand Mahomes Sr. for his actions, according to the documents. However, the Chiefs quarterback’s father admitted that the Rocker incident “was a staged altercation to get publicity for [a] celebrity boxing match that was set to take place in April 2025” in an apparent attempt to avoid controversy.

According to the documents, Mahomes Sr. also took the urine test on February 12; the results were negative. After meeting with the officials, the 57-year-old was able to avoid issues because the court only informed him that if he makes a mistake again in the future, an application to revoke his probation might be made.
