Mariah Carey was on the cusp of entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
However, the diva was sensationally left out of the Class of 2024 – despite besting many of the names who were ultimately picked in the public vote.
The latter, of course, is not the only metric factored into the process. Yet, the omission still left jaws ajar given that Mimi has technically been eligible for induction since 2015 (as nominations can only take place 25 years after an artist’s debut).
Needless to say, Carey’s Lambs are less than impressed and took to social media to vent.

Dave Mathews Band was inducted to the Rock &Roll Hall of Fame before Mariah Carey?!?She has sold way more records,has more #1’s,and has influenced way more artists! She also wrote a majority of her songs.They’re artists she influenced who sell millions of recods.

As well as Carey, Sade, Oasis, Sinead O’Connor, Jane’s Addiction, Eric B. & Rakim, and Lenny Kravitz also did not make the shortlist after initial nomination.
