After dropping her heavily debated cover art and teasing her newest single a few days ago, Latto has delivered the lyrical sermon, “Sunday Service.”
As some initially suspected the song’s lyrics to be aimed at Ice Spice, the “Big Energy” rapper has confirmed it. She raps: “Think I’m the sh*t, bi**h, I know it, ho*/ Jesus walked on water, I got ice boilin’ though.”
Elsewhere she says, “These bit**hes corny, soon as monkey see, then you know monkey do/ Do you rap or do you tweet?/ ‘Cause I can’t tell, get in the booth, bi**h.” The lyrics in question are a reference to Ice’s “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” where she raps: “ She all on the floor, told her get up.”
Latto also alludes to the Bronx star once saying that her lyrics are inspired from social media captions. “I like to hear catchy stuff and I always be thinking like, Damn, what should I caption this? So I just started coming up with mad captions,” Ice explained to The New York Times.

The RCA Records signee stopped by Million Dollaz Worth of Game with Gillie Da Kid and Wallo on Friday (Feb. 9) to speak on the tune. When asked about the inspiration behind “Sunday Service” and its cover art, she said, “It ain’t really nothing for real.”
“I ain’t shake the table,” she asserted. “Let me tell ya’ll, it’s really just like female rap from then to now. I feel like we’re the topic of conversation, we’re the whole movement right now. So it’s really like a homage. Even them bi**hes I’m beefing with. We all doing our thing.”
The 25-year-old posted the cover art to “Sunday Service” showing her sitting on the floor as blacked-out photos of Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott and more were plastered behind her. Ice Spice was noticeably visible on the cover and an alternate one where Latto is standing next to her picture.
As the two rappers have shared “similar” fashion choices in the past — leading social media to onset their “beef” — the “Deli” rapper confirmed that there, indeed, was an issue. Ice called out Latto on X Spaces after noticing her “Pretty Girl” music video playing in the background of a Tiktok posted by Latto.

“Seeing that I’m in the back of your weak-ass snippet … so I was like, ‘Wait a second — that’s me?’” she said. “So I’m like, ‘Okay, since we’re talking about me, let’s talk about me,’ and I dropped that. I was like, ‘This has to be fake — this is AI,’ but bi**hes be bold, so I was like, ‘Alright, we’re being bold today.’”
Speaking of bold, Latto was also spotted shooting the music video for “Sunday Service” in Ice Spice’s neck-of-the-woods: The Bronx.
