Initially, Michael brushed off the inquiry with a laugh, but as the persistent paparazzi delved deeper into whether he approved of the relationship, the former basketball player replied, "No!" Watch below: However, during the podcast, Marcus found humor in his father's comment, attributing it to their competitive family dynamic and suggesting that Michael may have been in a playful mood, potentially influenced by some Socorro tequila. “I know my dad, and obviously my whole family, we’re so competitive, part of our DNA is to talk s---, it gets us going and gets us motivated,” he said. “And when I saw it immediately I thought, ‘He’s playing.’ He’s joking, he’s laughing.” While Marcus didn't dwell on his father's words, recognizing their lighthearted nature, Larsa was deeply affected by the incident. "There's nothing funny about it. I was kind of embarrassed, I was like traumatized, I'm like, ‘Oh my God, What are we going to do? People think I lied,’" Larsa said, referring to Michael's remark about their relationship. On the podcast, Larsa also acknowledged the potential awkwardness of their romance for both Michael and her ex-husband, Scottie Pippen, considering the history between the two NBA players during their time as Chicago Bulls teammates. Hmph. “At the root of it all obviously is my dad’s relationship with your ex Scottie [Pippen]. Obviously, we never talk about that and I don’t think my dad wanted to comment on that. There’s always that narrative, the rumor that I’m dating you in some sort of way to get back at whatever was said, and if my dad comes out and says, ‘Yes,’ he’s fuelling that narrative or whatever. I think he said no just in a joking way, knowing how Jordans play around, and so I thought it was funny from the jump.” "My dad did say, 'Maybe I should have kept quiet.' " Marcus laughed.
