A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office in West Hollywood, Calif., tells us that the Yeezy CEO, 45, was “contacted” by photographers as he left Sunset Boulevard on Tuesday at around 5 or 6 p.m. local time.
The paparazzi allegedly “got into a verbal argument with [West] and challenged him to a fight,” according to the watch sergeant.
Subsequently, West and individuals who were “hanging out with him” at the time went to the sheriff’s station to request their assistance.
Page Six can confirm that a criminal report was created and there is an active investigation into the incident. It appears no arrests have been made.
A rep for West could not immediately be reached for comment.
This is the second scuffle in less than a month that the “All of the Lights” rapper has gotten into with paparazzi.
In late January, West approached a woman who was recording him from her car and, according to a viral video, appeared to throw her phone out onto the street.
“You didn’t have to run up on me like that,” the “Flashing Lights” rapper could be heard telling the woman in the clip. “If I say stop, stop with your cameras!”
As a result of the incident, West was named as a suspect in a battery investigation.
Page Six has been in contact with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department regarding the incident, but there has not yet been a conclusion to the probe.
That same day, a paparazzo also argued with West that they had a right to take photos of him at his kids’ basketball game because they were on a public street.
“You want me to be running up on your kids’ games like that?” Ye told the pap, who tried to defend himself by saying that “there’s a hundred of us.”
In August 2022, West was involved in a separate incident, in which he allegedly punched a man who asked him for an autograph.
However, he did not face criminal charges for that incident.
West’s attorney Michael Goldstein told us at the time, “We are satisfied with this resolution as it recognizes my client did nothing wrong.”
