Justin Timberlake’s Lawyer Says Singer Will “Vigorously” Defend Himself After Shock DWI Arrest

Justin Timberlake made headlines the world over yesterday (June 18) when he was shockingly arrested for driving while intoxicated in The Hamptons.

Stopped by cops after allegedly swerving and running a stop sign, JT (who was said to have reeked of alcohol, despite claiming to have only had one Martini) allegedly failed a field sobriety test.

The 43-year-old was subsequently taken into custody. He was formally charged with drinking while intoxicated and a July 26 court date was set.

However, in a fresh twist, his lawyer has issued a statement insisting that the star will “vigorously” defend the allegations.

Edward Burke Jr. said in a statement:

“[We] look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. I will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney’s office.”

The coming weeks will no doubt be interesting. For, the July 26 US court date falls on the same day as the launch of the European leg of JT’s ‘Forget The World Tour’ in…Poland.
