Jerrod Carmichael Readies Racy New HBO Special ‘Don’t Be Gay’

The Emmy-winning comedian returns to HBO with his latest stand-up special, ‘Don’t Be Gay,’ airing May 24 at 10 PM ET/PT and streaming on Max.

Known for peeling back the layers with an unsettling grace, Carmichael is once again stepping into the spotlight, and if ‘Rothaniel’ cracked the mask, this time, he’s smashing it.

‘Don’t Be Gay’ marks his fourth special with HBO, and while details are tightly sealed, folk ought to expect more of that signature blend: unbridled honesty, emotional gut punches, and sharp, dry wit that lingers long after the laugh.

Written and executive produced by Carmichael himself, the special is helmed by longtime collaborator Ari Katcher.

One thing i clear: Carmichael isn’t interested in safe comedy. He’s here to say the things most won’t and make the masses laugh and squirm while doing it.
