In a $1 Million Home Invasion, NBA Star Ja Morant Was the Most Recent Victim

In December, a $1 million raid resulted in the burglary of NBA player Ja Morant. Following the robberies of athletes like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, he became the most recent victim.

In a federal complaint, Morant, 25, was identified as ‘Professional athlete #6’, demonstrating the extent of the burglary epidemic. Unsealed this week, the lawsuit reveals that when Morant was playing for the Memphis Grizzlies versus the Golden State Warriors, his home was broken into.

TMZ claims that The Memphis Grizzlies star’s home was broken into on December 20 at approximately 4 p.m., and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene. According to a police statement, around $1 million worth of loot was taken.

“Detectives are actively investigating the case, pursuing leads, and working to identify those responsible.”

Ja Morant in a long list of recent celebrities burgled

Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks, and an unnamed Tampa Bay Buccaneers player were other victims of the burglary crew.

Seven defendants were named in the complaint: Jordan Sanchez, Bastian Morales, Bastian Freraut, Pablo Cartes, Ignacio Cartes, Alexander Chavez, and Sergio Cabello. They could be imprisoned for up to ten years on a conspiracy charge of interstate transportation of stolen property.

When officers stopped some of the individuals during a traffic stop, they discovered LSU merchandise in the trunk, which they suspect belonged to former LSU player Burrow.

A picture of three of the seven guys was released by the Department of Justice, and they are accused of being members of a thieving gang from South America.
