Iconic Playoff Photo Goes Viral as Anthony Edwards Trolls Luka Doncic

Anthony Edwards has no qualms about competing against the NBA’s top players.

The incredibly self-assured Edwards has demonstrated this in both his words and deeds, particularly throughout the NBA playoffs. When Edwards gleefully ridiculed his childhood hero and Phoenix Suns player Kevin Durant during Game 1 of Minnesota’s eventual first-round series triumph during last year’s Minnesota Timberwolves postseason run, he went viral.

There were many memorable photos taken during the occasion. In Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round series on Saturday, the Timberwolves defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 117-95, and Edwards was a part of yet another memorable occasion.

Lakers star Luka Doncic was guarding when Edwards made a three-pointer in the fourth quarter. Then, pointing directly at the Lakers star as he celebrated his third birthday, the Timberwolves player spun around and made fun of Doncic.

It was a memorable picture.

Ronald Martinez of Getty Images took the picture, which was uploaded to ESPN’s X account. It has had 28,000 likes and 3 million views as of Sunday, and it is still growing.

With 22 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, a steal, and one genuinely unforgettable moment, Edwards concluded the first game victory. In the highly anticipated Timberwolves-Lakers series, there will undoubtedly be more of them.
