Hot 100: Olivia Rodrigo Made History As ‘Vampire’ Hit #1 the Same Day It Was Certified Platinum

To say Olivia Rodrigo‘s had a good week would be an understatement.

Kicking things off Sunday (September 17), Rodrigo welcomed news her sophomore album, ‘Guts,’ had bounded to the top of the Billboard 200 with some of the year’s biggest first-week sales.  A day later she learned the set’s leading single – ‘Vampire‘ – had soared to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 yet again.

The refreshed Hot 100 shows 12 of its top 40 positions printed with Olivia’s name in them thanks to the out-of-the-box success of ‘Guts.’  A historic feat, the 20-year-old becomes the first artist to chart all songs from two career-opening albums in the chart region.

Among the 12 is the lead single, ‘Vampire,’ which roosts at #1 for a second time.

Here are the numbers that powered its most recent top placement.

  • Streaming: 22.8 million U.S.-based streams
  • Digital Downloads: 4,000 sold
  • Radio Airplay: 55.8 million audience impressions

The Hot 100 report isn’t the only news ‘Vampire’ is celebrating this week, however.

Monday (September 18) the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press to announce the June 30-released tune had already crossed its threshold for Platinum certification, meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 1 million copies in the United States.

Her 13th plaque of such stature for a song, the ‘Vampire’ addition ups her cumulative single sales to 33 million in the U.S.
