2024 continues to be a breakout year for rapstress GloRilla.
As if nabbing her biggest first-week single sales to date thanks to the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted ‘Wanna Be‘ wasn’t enough to boast, the Memphis native also laid claim to her first solo top 40 appearance on the Hot 100 with the viral ‘Yeah Glo.’
Not resting on the success of ‘Glo’ and its parent project, ‘Ehhthang Ehhthang,’ GloRilla has already carved a follow-up hit on the charts with another of the mixtape’s favorites – ‘TGIF.’
What’s more, the tune’s handsome opening on this week’s Hot 100 marks a historic milestone for the GRAMMY nominee.
Details inside.
Having already garnered a massive response on Tik Tok with ‘TGIF,’ Glo capitalized on the momentum by giving the tune its live award show premiere with a high-octane performance at the BET Awards (June 30).
The exposure from that showing alongside rising views from the cut’s official music video (seen above) helped propel it into this week’s top 40 from its previous #47 peak.
Here are the numbers that powered its #28 placement.
- Streaming ≈ 14.3 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 2,500 digital downloads
- Radio airplay ≈ 1.6 million audience impressions
While Glo is occupying three of this week’s top 40 spots with the songs she performed at the BET Awards (‘Wanna Be’ – #22, ‘TGIF’ – #28, ‘Yeah Glo’ – #31), two of them are unaccompanied – making her one of very few femcees who can boast owning more than one solo top 40 hit over the Hot 100’s nearly 66-year history.
