Day 4 of Diddy‘s sex trafficking and racketeering trial has brought with it major revelations about the complicated life of the embattled mogul.
Notably, the fact that he suffered a drug overdose in 2012.
Full story below…
The shocking disclosure was shared today (May 15) by Cassie during cross-examination by the defense.
As reported, the ‘Long Way 2 Go’ singer has spent the lion’s share of this week unpacking harrowing details of her ten-year relationship with the star. A relationship she says was defined by copious amounts of sexual abuse, violence, and alleged forced liaisons with male escorts.
With the defense prodding at her account, the latest line of questioning centered on Diddy’s drug use.
It’s a move analysts say is being drawn on to re-frame his substance issues (and the myriad of actions they fueled) as being the result of the sickness of addiction. Rather than any intrinsic depravity.
During the questioning, Cassie confirmed that an opiate-dependent Diddy overdosed on painkillers. She said it occurred after a particularly action-packed day in February 2012; a day that included a freak-off, a visit to a sex club, and a party at the Playboy Mansion.
She further testified that she and Diddy used to refer to themselves as “Get High Partners.” It’s a title she says he took seriously, as he would explode when she would use drugs without him.
The model/performer added that the baby oil they used during freak-offs was not laced with any other substances – a point that may prove crucial for both the prosecution and defense later in the trial. For, in several of the civil lawsuits Diddy is facing, it’s alleged that said oil was mixed with substances unbeknownst to the alleged victims.
Some expect the prosecution to provide supporting evidence of this from future witnesses. Others predict the defense will hone in on Cassie’s declaration that there was no fettering.
The case continues.
