Shedeur Sanders’s phenomenal season
Shedeur had a fantastic 2024 collegiate football season, averaging a 74.2% completion rate and 3,926 yards with 35 touchdowns. Compared to the previous season, when Colorado fared poorly (4–8), this was a huge improvement. Shedeur passed for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns, and a 69.3% completion rate.
Since 1987, the finest quarterback has received the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award for his outstanding play on and off the field. Dedicated to the renowned quarterback Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts, Shedeur joins an exclusive group of past champions that includes Mac Jones, Jayden Daniels, and Joe Burrow.
As he concluded his collegiate football season on a good note, Shedeur highlighted his future objectives in his award acceptance speech: “I got big plans, big dreams, and high expectations for myself and for the team,”
Shedeur, who was also named the Big 12 Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year Award the day before, is still a heavy favorite to be selected first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft (+125).
